IKEA’s Dirigera Hub for smart products is now a Matter 1.4 certified device. This upgrade was confirmed by a recent listing in the database of the Connectivity Standards Alliance. However, it is unclear when IKEA will push the new version of the smart home protocol to the hub, given another recent update.

The IKEA Dirigera Hub is now certified for Matter 1.4. This smart home hub became a Matter Bridge in 2024 and gained the ability to act as a Matter controller via an update released earlier in 2025.

The filing, certificate CSA25048SWC60231-M2, was found in the database of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). The CSA is the body responsible for the rollout and management of the Matter smart home standard. It confirms that, as of October 29th 2025, IKEA’s Dirigera is a Matter 1.4 certified device.

Matter 1.4 could bring support for new devices like balcony power plants and water heaters, devices which IKEA is selling in partnership with the company Svea in some European countries. This version of the protocol is also compatible with water heaters and brings improvements for thermostats, such as support for scheduling and vacation or home/away modes. On top of this, it includes a new Device Energy Management Mode, helping users to understand their power consumption habits and adjust device usage accordingly.

However, it could be some time before IKEA pushes this version of Matter to its smart home hub, as it only recently issued support for Matter 1.3, with the Dirigera Hub version 2.866.3 update.
