The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Silent Zero Cold Water 16L Edition has been released in China. This smart home device is said to offer various upgrades compared to the older Mijia Gas Water Heater S1.
As its name suggests, Xiaomi’s new Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 is said to operate even more quietly than its predecessor, with nine-layer noise reduction technology. Plus, it is marketed as a CHCT Level-1 Acoustic Quality Certified device. The product is said to deliver instant hot water around your home, with the dual-drive water servo system ensuring consistent temperatures. According to Xiaomi, the temperature controls are accurate to within 0.3°C.
Users of the new Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 can choose between four heating modes: timed, water-controlled, manual and connected. It supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, with app-based controls. This also allows it to be linked to other smart home products; for example, you could set the water to start heating when you unlock your smart front door. The product listing also indicates that it is relatively compact, measuring 520 x 360 x 172 mm (~20.5 x 14.2 x 6.8 inches), making it 21% smaller than the original Mijia Gas Water Heater.
In China, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Silent Zero Cold Water 16L Edition retails for CNY 2,499 (~$351). The company has yet to release any similar products in Europe, where it already sells devices like Mi Smart Space Heater S (curr. €119.99 at Mi Store DE).
