The Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro is a new smart home product from Xiaomi. The system is designed to be an effective remedy against dry (heating) air and to improve well-being within your own four walls.
A new smart home product from Xiaomi, namely the Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro, has just appeared on Xiaomi's global website. However, information on price and availability are still pending.
For greater comfort
The system is a humidifier designed to increase indoor humidity. By plotting air temperature and relative humidity on a graph, the range of comfortable indoor air conditions can be visualized. Ideally, a humidifier can simply shift the humidity level into a comfortable range. According to Xiaomi, the Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro can convert up to 600 milliliters of water per hour from a liquid to a gaseous state, making it suitable for larger rooms. It features a 5-liter water tank.
Integration into smart homes is possible
A filter is installed, which is primarily intended to prevent or at least reduce microbiological contamination. Both the filter and the water pump can be removed. A display is located on the top of the 230 x 432 mm system, but integration into smart homes is also possible, as it is compatible with Google Home and Alexa. Control is not primarily carried out directly by selecting a power level; instead, a target humidity is defined, which then serves as a reference value. The specified noise level is 30.7 dBA.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
