Xiaomi has introduced a new television that’s part of its 2026 Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini LED series. The new model has a massive 98-inch panel, which means it's one of the biggest TVs on the regular consumer market. Home theater fans who want an even bigger screen might want to opt for a projector instead.
Anyhow, the Xiaomi mini-LED TV offers up to 5,700 nits of peak brightness, although this cannot be displayed permanently or across the entire screen. The backlight can be dimmed in 3,864 zones, which should result in a decent contrast ratio.
High resolution and refresh rate
The native resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels, and Xiaomi also claims that the set offers a refresh rate of up to 330Hz at lower resolutions. 4K content can be displayed at up to 165Hz. Needless to say, the source device must support such a high refresh rate at 4K, and even high-end gaming PCs will have issues running the latest games at those settings. In any case, the TV covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Seven speakers and limited availability
The 98-inch television further has an audio system with a total of seven speakers, which means that a soundbar or dedicated speakers that can be connected via an optical audio output might not be needed. In terms of connectivity, the 2026 Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini LED offers the usual HDMI 2.1 (one with eARC), USB and Ethernet ports. WiFi is onboard as well, as is a smart operating system that provides access to the usual streaming apps. This new mini-LED set is now available in China for the equivalent of around $2,250.
