Xiaomi launches new 5.1.2-channel TV speaker with built-in subwoofer

Xiaomi has introduced a new TV speaker, and it sports a 5.1.2-channel configuration. The company notes that the soundbar comes with a peak power rating of 490 W, which promises to offer an immersive and cinema-level surround sound experience.

Another notable highlight of the new TV speaker is the built-in subwoofer. Xiaomi notes that it's rated for 120 W of power, and this integration promises to deliver high-quality audio without the clutter of a complex sound setup.

The company further highlights the support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio technologies. These are said to offer dynamic sound effects and allow the TV speaker to fill the living room with rich sound.

There are some gaming-centric features as well, including HDMI eARC that's capable of offering 4K 120 Hz passthrough with VRR and ALLM (6.6-feet Anker HDMI cable curr. $15.99 on Amazon). As for the input, there appears to be a rich selection of ports, including:

The launch price in China is CNY 1,999, around $281. Xiaomi has yet to share when the TV soundbar will be available in the global market, but it's worth noting that the company has brought most of its previously launched TV speakers to the international market.
