Call of Duty DLC is a lucrative way for Activision to maintain a steady revenue stream. Not all fans were happy with the quality of the content for Black Ops 6. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Treyarch may try to appease critics with an even greater selection of maps and skins. Popular leaker TheGhostOfHope also has teased a significant change coming to Modern Warfare 4.
TheGhostOfHope predicts that developers will focus on Season 1-4 following the November 14th Black Ops 7 release date. Compared to Modern Warfare 3, gamers can expect a larger variety of DLC. Even so, the pace of downloads could dwindle quickly by the time Modern Warfare 4 debuts.
Fans hoping for original creations in the next Treyarch shooter game may be disappointed. According to the leak, unreleased Black Ops 6 content will resurface. In some cases, that may complicate the decision to make Black Ops 7 skins more realistic. Activision also revealed that purchased content wouldn’t carry forward to the new title, though that likely won’t apply to all items.
Modern Warfare 4 may relaunch the shooter franchise
Developer Infinity Ward could have no choice but to concoct fresh designs for Modern Warfare 4 DLC. Rumored to arrive in 2026, TheGhostOfHope believes that the shooter will transition to a new engine. As a result, items from previous games may not be compatible.
It’s expected that Modern Warfare 4 will drop the PS4 and Xbox One and become a current-gen exclusive. The change will hopefully allow for improved visuals on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Otherwise, reports suggest that the game will take place in South and North Korea with a revamped UI.
Gamers may get a look at basic cosmetic options in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 open beta when it begins on October 2nd.
