Sharp has just unveiled the Aquos MiniLED JP7000 series. This includes smart TVs in four sizes up to 75 inches, featuring Mini-LED and Quantum Dot technology.

Sharp Consumer Electronics has just showcased its Aquos MiniLED JP7000 series, a new line of smart TVs with Mini-LEDs that will be available this month in several sizes (50, 55, 65, and 75 inches). Information on prices is still pending.

The manufacturer promises to bring "a new dimension of affordable picture and sound quality to living rooms". The TVs utilize QLED Quantum Dot and Mini-LED technology. While hundreds of tiny LEDs in the Mini-LED backlight provide more precise dimming zones and thus a higher-contrast picture, Quantum Dots ensure better and more natural color reproduction.

The Sharp Aquos MiniLED JP7000 series also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 for high-contrast images with deep blacks. Aquos Smooth Motion is designed to ensure smooth playback of the 4K UHD image, even during fast-moving scenes. However, the refresh rate is only 60 Hz, not the 120 Hz that is becoming increasingly standard nowadays. The display technology is housed in a virtually frameless design that rests on a central aluminum stand.

For sound output, the device features a Harman Kardon-tuned and certified sound system consisting of two 12 W speakers and supporting 3D Dolby Atmos sound. The rear panel offers the usual connections, including HDMI (with eARC) and USB. Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also supported.

Sony has chosen Google TV as the operating system for the Aquos MiniLED JP7000 series, which allows users to access numerous apps in addition to Google Assistant. Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV and Prime Video come preinstalled, among others.
