Home Assistant has released an update for its iOS smartphone app. Version 2025.11.0 is the most significant update for the open source smart home automation software company’s app in recent months, with new features last added in July 2025.
With Home Assistant app version 2025.11.0 for iOS, users get a refreshed onboarding experience. According to the company, this should make the experience “easier" and "faster" to get started. Home Assistant users are now asked to choose between two connection security levels. The first level is ‘Most secure’, the recommended option. This is said to ensure that the app will only connect to an unencrypted URL when you are using your chosen home network. The second option, ‘Less secure’, means users do not need to grant location permissions, or can disable location at the OS level, though this may put your Home Assistant data at risk. You can find out more about these options on Home Assistant's support page.
The Home Assistant iOS app version 2025.11.0 also comes with a range of bug fixes and improvements. The company has resolved a problem where the header buttons in the Apple Watch app did not work as expected. It has also tackled an issue where the Watch Assist pipeline picker would not open. Plus, CarPlay connection stability is said to have been enhanced. On top of this, if you restore an iPhone from a backup, your Widgets should now migrate smoothly.
You can now download the Home Assistant iOS app version 2025.11.0 from the Apple App Store.
