The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40 Pro is now available in Europe. It arrives several weeks after the original Robot Vacuum S40, and months after the cheaper Robot Vacuum S40C.
Xiaomi’s Robot Vacuum S40 Pro is said to offer up to 15,000 Pa suction power, making it far more powerful than the S40, which delivers up to 10,000 Pa suction. There is a central roller anti-tangle brush and an extending side brush to aid cleaning. Another upgrade compared to the standard model is dual mops, one of which is attached to an extending mechanical arm to reach into the corners and edges of each room. The mops rotate 180 times per minute, and users can choose between three water flow levels.
The Robot Vacuum S40 Pro uses LDS laser navigation to move around your home, and structured light technology, with a 129° wide angle, to detect and avoid obstacles. Plus, the mop pads are automatically lifted when carpet is detected, to avoid wetting the fibres. The product listing suggests that it can clean an area of up to 180 m² (~1,938 ft²) between charges. Users can remotely control the robot vacuum through the Xiaomi Home app, where they can also adjust maps and set up a cleaning schedule. On top of this, it supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands.
You can now buy the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40 Pro at the brand’s online store in countries like Spain, France and Germany for €299.99. In the latter, it is listed with a €399.00 RRP, with no indication as to when the current discount could end. In the Netherlands, it is slightly cheaper at €279, and in the UK it can be purchased for £259.99.
