Xiaomi has released two new Mi Home Air Conditioner (Super Energy Saving) devices in China. These floor standing devices, sometimes referred to as a vertical model, are currently available to pre-order in this market.
The two versions of the Mi Home Air Conditioner offer 2HP and 3HP power, respectively. Both variants provide a 115° airflow angle and offer both heating and cooling, said to start heating a room in around 60 seconds, and to begin cooling in as little as 30 seconds. While the 2HP version has a 1,520 m³/h (~895 ft³/min) airflow rate, the 3HP model has a higher rate of 1,755 m³/h (~1,033 ft³/min).
Xiaomi suggests that the Mi Home Air Conditioner’s AI algorithm delivers an energy saving rate of over 30%. The 2HP model has an annual performance factor (APF) of 4.90, and the 3HP version scores 4.86. Plus, both have been certified as Level 1 efficiency devices in China. You can remotely control these smart air conditioners via Xiaomi’s app. As well as adjusting their settings, the app can also be used for OTA updates, to diagnose problems or to get maintenance reminders. Plus, support for HyperConnect allows this model to integrate with your wider Xiaomi smart home ecosystem. The indoor unit has a plain white casing, measuring 346 x 1,868 x 434 mm (~13.6 x 73.5 x 17.0 inches).
In China, the Xiaomi Mi Home Air Conditioner (Super Energy Saving) 2HP retails for CNY 4,599 (~$650), while the Xiaomi Mi Home Air Conditioner (Super Energy Saving) 3HP is priced at CNY 5,299 (~$750). It is unclear whether or when these devices could be released in markets like Europe, where Xiaomi already sells wall-mounted models like the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco 3.5 kW (curr. €699 at Xiaomi Store Spain).
