The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Waterfall Shower with Zero Cold Water (18L) has been released in China. This is the latest version of this smart home device, following earlier Silent and Constant Temperature models.
Xiaomi’s new Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 is designed for waterfall showers, with the 8,100 rpm TSI booster pump said to increase the water output by 170%. The device’s 18L capacity should produce ample hot water for a shower with powerful pressurisation, and it is also said to deliver hot water “instantly”. The dual-drive water servo keeps the temperature constant, and the product has gained a Level 2 energy efficiency rating in China.
With support for Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and BLE 5.0, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Waterfall Shower edition can be remotely controlled via the Mi Home app. Here, you can remotely adjust the temperature and set aside hot water for later. Plus, with HyperConnect, you can link the product to other smart home devices, which could be used to intelligently turn it on or off. This model has a white finish, measuring 575 x 365 x 184 mm (~22.6 x 14.4 x 7.2 inches), with a small digital display showing information like the current temperature.
In China, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Waterfall Shower with Zero Cold Water (18L) retails for CNY 2,499 (~$353). Given that the company has yet to release similar products in Europe, it seems unlikely that this water heater will be released in this market. However, Xiaomi does sell other smart home devices in this region, such as the Robot Vacuum X20+ (curr. €279.99 at Amazon DE).
