A new version of the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 has been unveiled in China. This model is described as the Constant Temperature Zero Cold Water 16L edition (machine translated), designed to instantly deliver hot water around your home.
The upgraded Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 can start pre-heating at the click of a button, or based on the water level. It also offers smarter options, with users able to remotely start pre-heating via the brand’s smartphone app, where you can also set up a schedule. With support for HyperOS Connect, it could also be triggered by a linked smart home device; for example, you could set it to start heating water when you get home, based on the time at which you unlock your smart door lock.
Xiaomi’s new Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 has a dual-drive water servo, helping to keep the temperature within 0.5°C, which could be particularly useful when running a bath. Plus, according to Xiaomi, the TSI booster pump allows it to work in a high-rise building. It has a CQC Level 1 certificate for running quietly, generating as little as 45 dBA, and a Level 2 energy efficiency rating. Plus, it is said to be 15% smaller than older models from the brand, measuring 530 x 360 x 180 mm (~20.87 x 14.17 x 7.09 inches), with a pearlized white casing.
In China, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 retails for CNY 1,699 (~$239). It is unlikely that it will reach Europe, as the company has yet to launch any similar products in this region. However, it does sell other smart home devices, like the Robot Vacuum X20+ (curr. €299.99 at Amazon DE).
