A new update has arrived for the Philips Hue app. Version 5.56 is now available for iOS and Android users, following the version 5.55 release. This earlier update brought a new AI tool for automations, as well as shortcuts for Hue Secure alerts.
Philips Hue app version 5.56 is a relatively minor update. This time, the release notes state that the update brings “various bug fixes and stability improvements”. Unfortunately, the company has not provided further details, making it hard for users of the brand’s smart home products to understand how they could benefit from this update.
Users can expect to receive at least one more Philips Hue app update before the end of 2025, given that releases happen roughly every two weeks. For example, the Winter Holiday scenes have yet to be added back to the Hue scene gallery. Another feature that we are still waiting for is the ability to migrate multiple Hue Bridges to the Hue Bridge Pro (curr. $98.99 at Amazon). Currently, the assistant only supports the automation migration of a single Bridge. Given the upcoming holidays, it may be that users have to wait until the new year for this functionality to arrive.
You can download the Philips Hue app version 5.56 from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
