JVC Kenwood has released the SP-WS10BT portable wireless TV speaker designed for owners who are hard of hearing.
The portable speaker incorporates two 3-watt drivers and one 14-watt woofer. The speaker is tuned to emphasize the audio frequency for dialogue to make speech easier to understand, according to the company. A large volume knob and big control buttons are located on top.
The compact speaker comes with a natural wood body and swiveling aluminum handle. It measures 210 x 85 x 92 mm (8.3 x 3.3 x 3.6 in.) and weighs 1,052 g (2.3 lbs.), allowing it to be conveniently moved about the room near listeners. The battery can power the speaker for up to 15 hours, says JVC.
The TV speaker connects to its wireless transmitter over a Bluetooth 5.4 connection. The transmitter box connects to the TV using an optical or analog audio cable and is powered by AC. The speaker can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker for smartphones, and has 3.5 mm headphone and audio input jacks.
The JVC Kenwood SP-WS10BT TV speaker has an MSRP of 31,020 yen (~$200) and is available for purchase from the company store.
