New IKEA Varmblixt smart lights on the way

IKEA will release two new smart Varmblixt lights later in 2026. The range builds on the popularity of the donut-shaped light, designed in collaboration with Sabine Marcelis, which was released in 2023.

Now, IKEA is working on a new smart version of the Varmblixt LED table/wall lamp. While its predecessor has an orange glass shell, the upcoming variant will have a matte white glass surface. The integrated light source will offer twelve preset colors, gradually cycling from white through pink to turquoise and yellow. This smart light will support connection to the IKEA Dirigera hub, which will allow users to customize the shade of the light and its brightness.

The second IKEA Varmblixt smart product is a pendant light. It has a similar design to the existing LED pendant light, though the latest version will transition through various shades of warm and cool white light. Both of the new smart Varmblixt lights will come with the IKEA Bilresa remote. Plus, they will support Matter, meaning they will be able to integrate with many different smart home ecosystems.

The IKEA Varmblixt smart table/wall lamp and smart pendant light will be released in April 2026. However, the company has yet to announce an exact launch date or pricing for these new smart home products.
