Beelink is quite a well-regarded brand in the realm of mini PCs. Over the years, we have reviewed a whole bunch of these compact beasts from the brand, and have had mostly positive things to say about them. The SER9 AI mini PC happens to be one of the most powerful from the brand, which is now available for a record-low price on Amazon.
At $899, the Beelink SER9 mini PC is now roughly around $100 cheaper than its typical retail price. Although the discount is not particularly massive, it is quite a good deal for those who have had this capable mini PC in their crosshairs. Price trackers such as Camelcamelcamel indicate the same, and the seller in question happens to be Beelink's official Amazon store with a robust return policy.
AMD-powered SER9 Pro: Excellent performance in a compact footprint
The Beelink SER9 mini PC is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 "Strix Point" APU with a 12-core setup. Packing 4 high-performance and 8 efficiency cores, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is a very powerful chip with excellent performance in synthetic benchmarks, putting it ahead of the Ryzen 7 8845HS by as much as 30%. Moreover, the Intel Core Ultra 285H found in the GTI15 Ultra is also left behind, by around 18%.
In simpler terms, our detailed review of the Beelink SER9 mini PC reveals that CPU performance is unlikely to leave any room for complaints for the vast majority of users. Beelink has managed the thermals quite well, with our benchmark stress tests revealing little to no throttling. The Radeon 890M iGPU is also quite an impressive part for an integrated unit, although it is still no match for a discrete GPU. Regardless, some lightweight casual gaming and video editing is not off the cards. The detailed list of I/O is as follows:
- Dual USB 3.2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
- Dual USB 2.0 Type-A
- USB Type-C (10 Gbps), USB4 Type-C (40 Gbps)
- 2.5G Ethernet
- DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1
- 3.5 mm audio jack
Drawbacks: No OCuLink, soldered memory
There is no OCuLink port, which is definitely a major drawback for those who like utilizing eGPUs for additional graphical grunt. Moreover, we also encountered DPC latency issues during 4K60 video playback, which is certainly worth noting. We did not face any other major issues, and were definitely pleased with the overall performance of the SER9 Pro AI mini PC.
That said, the lack of user-upgradeable memory is a major drawback for many customers. The storage, however, remains user-accessible. As such, the dual M.2 2280 (PCIe 4.0) slots on offer can be populated with up to 8 TB of solid-state storage.
At its current price, the Beelink SER9 Pro AI mini PC is cheaper than ever before, and remains a solid performer for its size. Interested customers are requested to be aware of the time-sensitive nature of this deal, and are definitely advised to refer to our in-depth review of the SER9 mini PC before pulling the trigger.
