Back in July, 8BitDo announced the Arcade Controller, a leverless controller it describes as “built for professionals”. It is available in two variants — a standard version that is compatible with Windows and Switch, and an Xbox Edition that works with Xbox consoles and Windows. Now, a pre-order page has appeared on Amazon for what is believed to be a new variant.
First spotted by X user @Wario64, the Amazon page simply lists it as the 8BitDo Controller and includes a single image which shows the back of the device. The label on the back of the device confirms that it is the 8BitDo Arcade Controller. The page also reveals that this version of the Arcade Controller is compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Windows. This means it is a variant of the standard version and not the Xbox edition.
What's interesting about this variant is that it seems it will be transparent based on the URL, which has the word “transparent”.
Furthermore, the pre-order page says the item will be released on January 31, 2026, confirming that this is indeed a new variant, probably a new color. Nevertheless, it is expected that 8BitDo will announce the controller soon; but as the listing says, it won't be available until the end of January 2026.
The unannounced 8BitDo Arcade Controller will sell for $94.99, $5 more than the standard one, which launched for $89.99 but is currently available for $76.99 on Amazon. However, it is slightly cheaper than the Xbox edition, which cost $99.99 at launch, but is currently discounted to $79.99 on Amazon.
