The Lenovo Legion Go 2's Truestrike controllers are compatible with the original Legion Go. Now, available to buy on Amazon, interested buyers can purchase them for their improved ergonomics and additional features they have over the original Truestrike controllers.

When the Legion Go 2 was first announced at CES 2025, it was revealed that its detachable Truestrike controllers are compatible with the original Legion Go (read our review). Now, a few months after the release of the Legion Go 2, Lenovo has begun selling the controllers on Amazon.

The Legion Go 2 Controllers have been available to buy directly from Lenovo for a couple of months now, but as of the time of writing, they are no longer in stock. However, buyers now have the option to purchase the controllers on Amazon.

Sold and shipped by Amazon, the controllers are sold separately and not as a bundle. The Legion Go 2 Right Controller is available to buy for $79.99 while the Legion Go 2 Left Controller is sold for $59.99. The reason for the difference in price is because the right controller has extra functions such as the ability to double as a vertical mouse for (first-person shooter) FPS games.

The Legion Go 2 controllers have better ergonomics than those of the original Legion Go. They also have a USB-C port, thus allowing owners to charge them with a USB-C cable, instead of having to connect them to the Legion Go or Legion Go 2 to charge them via the pogo pins.

If you choose to purchase the Legion Go 2 controllers, it will take some time to get used to them as Lenovo has moved the position of certain buttons. For instance, the View button which used to be below the Menu button on the Legion Go's controller is now at the top below the Legion Space button.

On the other hand, the Menu button has been moved from the left controller to the right controller and now sits below the Quick Settings button. The positions originally occupied by the Menu and View buttons are now home to the Desktop button and Page button respectively. Other changes include a redesigned D-pad (Pivot D-Pad) and segmented RGB lights.

According to the spec sheet, each controller has Hall Effect joysticks and triggers, a 650mAh battery capacity, a linear motor with improved vibration algorithm, and a refined grip. They also do not require a manual setup as they auto-pair to the device. They also have a wireless transmission range of 10 meters.
