The Lenovo Legion 7i is a relatively thin 16-inch gaming laptop that does not sacrifice on performance. Thanks to an ongoing sale, the RTX 5060-powered gamer can now be purchased for just $1,299 on Best Buy for a limited time.

Our in-depth review of the exact same SKU on offer happens to be extremely positive. For starters, we were extremely pleased with the Lenovo Legion 7i gaming laptop's performance. The 20-core Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX allows the laptop to outperform most other laptops in its class, and the 115 W Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU tells a similar story. During our Cinebench loop test, however, the laptop's performance dropped by around 8% after six cycles, which is worth noting.

The 16-inch glossy OLED display boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1600, allowing for a decently sharp viewing experience. Our testing further reveals that the panel covers 99.6% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making it well-suited for creative workflows as well. Gamers will also appreciate the 165 Hz refresh rate, which is perfectly adequate for fast-paced gaming.

The Legion 7i is not afraid to make noise under load

However, the Legion 7i gaming laptop's fans do get pretty loud under load, and core temperatures hover on the toastier side of the spectrum. Battery life suffers as well, with the laptop lasting just around four and a half hours in our wireless browsing test. Considering the laptop's specifications, this is to be expected, since Lenovo clearly did not want the laptop to be bulky in nature. The I/O on offer is as follows:

At its current sale price on Best Buy, the Lenovo Legion 7i gaming laptop is a solid purchase for those who want a powerful gaming laptop that is easy on the eyes, but are willing to settle for sub-par battery life.
