We tested a different variant of the Legion 5i with a slower Core i7 CPU, and found that the laptop was able to maintain its performance rather well over multiple Cinebench runs. 

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory performed as well as we had expected, making the Legion 5i 15 perfect for QHD gaming. However, memory intensive titles will definitely run into memory issues, making the system not quite ideal for future proofing. Our in-depth review praised the laptop's sustained GPU performance, and also pointed out that the 115-watt card manages to beat competing laptops with similar hardware in benchmarks.

The Legion 5i 15's OLED display is precise, vivid, and fast

The 15-inch QHD OLED display is quite the visual treat, boasting a refresh rate of 165 Hz and peak brightness of 925 nits, according to our review. Our tests further indicate that the panel manages truly impressive picture quality, courtesy of its 99.9% coverage of the P3 color gamut and excellent accuracy. This makes the Legion 5i 15's display well-suited for both gaming and content creation.

During gaming and heavy workloads, the Legion 5i definitely gets noticeably warm, and audibly loud. With lighter workloads and modest power settings, the laptop manages to stay cool and quiet. Battery life was quite disappointing, however, with our tested variant lasting just around 5 hours.

Clearly, the Lenovo Legion 5i 15 (Gen 10) gaming laptop is an excellent piece of hardware which manages to tick several boxes without costing a fortune. At its current sale price, the Legion 5i with 16 GB DDR5-5600 memory and 1 TB storage (Crucial T710 curr. $185 on Amazon) is even more attractive - that said, interested customers are definitely advised to act while the deal lasts.
