The brand-new Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) is scheduled to be officially unveiled at CES 2026 in January, but Samsung has already posted an image and mentioned the key specifications. Accordingly, the gaming monitor features a 32-inch QD-OLED panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 240Hz.
Compared to its direct predecessor, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) is expected to hit a higher brightness, as the monitor is certified for VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. This certification guarantees a full-screen brightness of 300 nits and a peak HDR brightness of 500 nits at 2% APL. The monitor further features an anti-glare finish. In addition to that, Samsung has also introduced a new 32-inch 3D monitor with 6K resolution and one of the world's fastest 27-inch screens.
The Samsung Odyssey G6 (G60H) has a refresh rate of 1,040Hz, at least when the resolution is turned down to 1280 x 720 pixels. At the full resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, the monitor supports a refresh rate of 600Hz. In any case, AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync are intended to prevent screen tearing by dynamically adjusting the refresh rate to the actual frame rate of a game. The Samsung Odyssey G6 is marketed specifically for professional e-sports gamers and enthusiasts.
