Last month, Sony launched an intriguing new monitor in South Korea called The Movingstyle. It can be moved around thanks to its integrated kickstand and rollable floor stand with hidden wheels. You won't be able to lug it around in a backpack, which is the whole point of a portable monitor, but if it is any consolation, The Movingstyle can operate as a standalone device with up to three hours of battery life, effectively making it a gargantuan tablet.
The Movingstyle (LSM7F) comes with a 27-inch LED panel with a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. HDR10+ Adaptive is supported along with Dolby Atmos. It comes with two USB-C ports and an HDMI port (with eARC) for video output. A 10-watt 2-channel speaker is included for audio output. On the software side, it runs Samsung's TizenOS and can double up as a secondary display for eligible Galaxy smartphones, tablets and laptops. Lastly, wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3.
Alongside the Movingstyle (LSM7F), Samsung has also unveiled a larger 32-inch Movingstyle M7 monitor with a 32-inch 4K VA panel with a brightness of 300 nits, 60 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms grey-to-grey response time. It features two HDMI ports, three USB-A ports, one USB-C port that supports charging peripherals at 65 Watts, 10-watt speakers, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Samsung Movingstyle can be purchased for $1,199, and the Movingstyle M7 monitor for $699.99 via Samsung's website and select third-party retailers.
