Samsung’s massive Odyssey Ark may be an older gaming display but it is still one of a kind and offers an experience that the standard large format monitors just cannot. Because of that uniqueness, it is typically quite expensive, but for a limited time, it has become more affordable than ever with a massive discount on Amazon.

Samsung 55" Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen features and specifications

Even though it released in late 2023, the Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen packs a curved VA panel with mini-LED backlighting and 1,056 dimming zones. As the name suggests, it is 55 inches and of course, with 4K resolution that maintains a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Being a gaming monitor, it supports 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response times, along with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

HDR10+ Gaming is also supported and Samsung claims a typical brightness of 600 nits. Since the Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen doubles as a TV, you can use the Tizen OS UI to stream content from a variety of services. It allows for connecting four inputs at once and splitting the massive 55-inch screen into four quadrants. There are 60W speakers as well, in case you want to take a break from headphones.

For connectivity, the gaming monitor comes with an external hub that houses two HDMI 2.1 and one HDMI 2.0 port, as well as a DisplayPort 1.4, two USB downstream, LAN, and a few other connectivity options. Samsung also includes the Ark Dial that allows for easier access to a variety of functions. Interestingly, the stand that comes with the display allows for all adjustments including pivot, so you can have the display vertically oriented for whatever use case. If not the stand, VESA (200 x 200) mounting is also an option.
