With the release of the original God of War in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, Sony Santa Monica started an iconic franchise. The game will mark its 20-year anniversary on March 20th. This is a momentous occasion for the company, as God of War is one of the biggest PlayStation exclusives with 9 full-fledged entries. To mark such an important milestone, Sony is now giving fans free God of War Ragnarok game rewards.
Starting March 20th, Sony will deliver the God of War Ragnarok Odyssey Collection free to everyone who owns the game on PC or PlayStation. The update will be available for both the base game and Valhalla.
God of War Ragnarok Dark Odyssey Collection
The God of War Ragnarok Dark Odyssey Collection brings free in-game cosmetics for Kratos, Freya, and Atreus. While Freya and Atreus will only get new Dark Odyssey costumes, there will be a new Dark Odyssey appearance as well as new armor and weapon coatings for Kratos.
Interestingly, Kratos’ Odyssey look takes inspiration from a God of War 2 coating that gamers earned for beating the game at “God Mode” difficulty. This time around, the black and gold theme is appearing on everything from weapons like the Blades of Chaos to various shields.
You’ll also be able to customize the appearance of weapons with the new Dark Odyssey weapon attachments.
How to claim free God of War Ragnarok rewards
Sony will drop an update for God of War Ragnarok on PC and PlayStation that will be free of charge no matter the version of the game you own. If you are on the base game, you’ll be able to claim the rewards from any “Lost Items” chest. Players rocking the Valhalla DLC will get the rewards automatically.
