Mini PCs featuring the AMD Strix Halo APUs have yet to hit the market. However, ETA Prime was able to secure a prototype featuring the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, and the gaming performance of the Radeon 8060S iGPU looks very promising.

While AMD has already announced the Strix Halo lineup at CES 2025, products featuring the new Zen 5 APUs are yet to become generally available. As for mini PCs, ETA Prime has managed to get a hold of a prototype that features the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, the top-end offering in the lineup.

The early test conducted by the YouTuber shows promising gaming performance, thanks to the Radeon 8060S iGPU. To fill you in, it packs 40 CUs, and, in comparison, the Radeon 890M (1 TB Minisforum AI370 curr. $935.99 on Amazon), the top-end iGPU of the Strix Point lineup, features 16 CUs. This makes the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 great for gaming systems without dGPUs.

As for how well the Strix Point APU could perform inside of a mini PC, ETA Prime has given a very early look at that. While the YouTuber didn't specify which brand the system is from, ETA did run quite a number of games on it. The first title tested was Cyberpunk 2077, which ran at 1440p on Ultra preset, and the game averaged at around 58 FPS, but on High preset, the FPS went over 60.

Next, ETA Prime ran Marvel Rivals at 1440p on High preset, and the game had an average of around 65 FPS. The newly available GTA 5 Enhanced Edition was also tested on this early Strix Halo mini PC, and the Radeon 8060S inside the system was able to offer over 90 FPS in most instances at 1440p on Very High preset.

Another game ETA Prime tested is Spider-Man 2 at 1440p on High preset and FSR set to Quality. The prototype mini PC could run the title at an average of around 90 FPS. Among the other notable games tested on the system is God of War Ragnarök, and at 1440p on High preset with no FSR, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 mini PC could offer over 70 FPS.

From these tests, it seems that mini PCs featuring the Strix Halo APUs will be great picks for gaming, especially the ones with the Radeon 8060S iGPU. A couple of these systems are expected to hit the market soon, including the HP Zbook Mini PC, a model from GMKtec, and a compact desktop from Framework.
