While OEMs have shown off numerous desktops with AMD's Strix Halo chips, the only laptop available on the market so far, at least globally, is the Asus ROG Flow Z13. At CES 2025, the HP ZBook Ultra 14 G1a was shown off with the same hardware, and now, a listing on Connection, an IT solution provider's website, tells us how much it could cost.
The top-spec HP ZBook Ultra 14 G1a variant with an AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 Pro, 128 GB RAM and 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD will set you back by an eye-watering $3,949. That is over $1,000 costlier than a similarly specced ROG Flow Z13. But, it is to be expected because it is a Pro-branded chip that offers extra enterprise-centric features.
Cheaper HP ZBook Ultra 14 G1a SKUs with other Strix Halo APUs like the Ryzen AI Max 390 Pro, Ryzen AI Max Pro 385 and Ryzen AI Max Pro 380 are also listed on the website at lower prices. Unfortunately, there's no information about when either model will ship, but if it is up for pre-order already, it might not be very long.
