Ever since AMD CEO Lisa Su said the company would bring its Ryzen AI Max branded Strix Halo processors to more desktops, we've seen a bunch of lesser-known OEMs show off their offerings. Chinese OEMs like GMKTec and Sixunited join the likes of Framework. And now, FEVM has entered the ranks with its FA-EX9.
The FEVM FA-EX9 can be configured with up to an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 40 RDNA 3.5 CUs. Like all Strix Halo parts, it can be configured with up to 128 GB of memory, of which 96 GB can be earmarked for the GPU and thereby used for AI training purposes. The listing does not specify how much storage the mini PC comes with, but you get a 240 Watt GaN charger with it.
For the front I/O, the FEVM FA-EX9 gets a micro SD card reader, a USB 4.0 40 Gbps Type-C port, and two USB-A ports. At the back, there's an Oculink port for an external GPU, RJ-45 Ethernet, 3x USB Type-A, another USB 4.0 port, an HDMI 2.1 port and a DP 1.4 port. FEVM hasn't specified how much the FA-EX9 costs, but more information should emerge in the coming weeks.
