GMKtec has already made the EVO-X2 official in China. Right after the Chinese launch, the company announced the imminent global availability of the gaming mini PC, and now, it has shared more details. Per the latest announcement, the Strix Halo system will be available to purchase on May 7, 2025, and currently, the company is taking reservations for priority shipping.
For those who want to reserve the Ryzen AI Max+ 395-powered mini PC, a minimum of $100 pre-order deposit is required, which will unlock a $100 discount. As for those who don't pay the $100 deposit for reserving the GMK EVO-X2, the company confirmed that the pre-sale price of the base config will be $1,499, which makes it one of the most expensive mini PCs in the market.
It's worth noting that the base configuration of the EVO-X2 comes with 64 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. There's another configuration of the EVO-X2 available, which bumps the memory to 128 GB and storage to 2 TB (2 TB Samsung 990 Pro curr. $169.99 on Amazon). This higher-end config of the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 will have a pre-sale price of $1,999, and it requires a $200 pre-order reservation for priority shipping and a $200 discount.
The company has yet to confirm the regular price tags for the two configurations of the GMKtec EVO-X2. As for the mini PC itself, the main highlight is the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with the Radeon 8060S iGPU. In our in-depth analysis, we found this AMD iGPU to be on par with the Nvidia RTX 4070 Laptop.
Besides that, the GMK EVO-X2 has a rich I/O, including two USB4 ports, but this Strix Halo mini PC doesn't have an OCuLink port. Other notable aspects of the system include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, up to 140 W TDP in the "Performance Mode," and up to 4 TB of storage support.
