Casio has a new G-Shock watch in the pipeline, and this one’s lifting heavy. Jokes aside, the new watch is being released to celebrate Gold’s Gym’s 60th anniversary in the US and 30 years in Japan. The new DW-6900 model is set to drop this July (as per G-Central), though you might have a hard time getting it if you’re not in Japan.
The commemorative watch carries the model number DW-6900FS and is expected to retail for ¥19,800 (~$132). According to early reports, it will be sold only through physical Gold’s Gym stores in Japan, with no online availability. While that setup strongly points towards a Japan-exclusive release, there's no official word yet on whether the US will get any units.
Design-wise, the watch keeps things black and bold. Yellow G-Shock and Gold’s Gym branding are present against a matte black finish, and a “30 Japan” logo appears just above the digital display. The backplate features custom Gold’s Gym engraving, and the package includes a limited round case marked with the same 30th anniversary artwork.
No spec sheet has been released (yet), but being a DW-6900, it’s safe to expect standard features like 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, backlight, and stopwatch functionality.
