Casio has now teamed up with Chinese outdoor brand The Free Spirits to launch a limited-edition Pro Trek PRW-6900TFS, and this one’s a first - both in terms of the collab and the bundled format. Two variants will be available: the PRW-6900TFS-1PRB and PRW-6900TFS-1PRT, as per @morgan_gshock on Instagram. Both models are based on the PRW-6900 platform and are being released in boxed gift sets that include additional straps and co-branded camping gear.
The base watch itself sports a dark grey case and dial, accented by orange markers and hands that manage to stand out well - even if the dial ends up looking a little over-styled. The orange digital display matches the theme pretty well.
Both variants include two straps. The first is a smooth khaki resin strap, while the other is a bi-color flame-retardant leather strap with a topographic pattern - an actual standout that does most of the heavy lifting in terms of design appeal.
The 1PRT set includes a co-branded camping tent and will be limited to merely 100 units. The 1PRB version swaps the tent for a compact tent bag and will have a broader 900-unit run. Both models feature a quick-release strap tool and packaging as well.
Functionality remains unchanged from the base PRW-6900: Casio’s third-gen Triple Sensor tech is here, with a digital compass, barometer, altimeter, and thermometer. There’s no solar or GPS, but for a sensor-based analog-digital hybrid, this is par for the course.
Retail pricing in China is set at ¥6,490 (~$894) for the 1PRT tent edition and ¥3,690 (~$508) for the 1PRB variant with the bag. As of now, the release appears to be China-exclusive, with no word on global availability.
