Hot on the heels of an initial leak back in March that gave us our first glimpse, Casio’s next premium G-Shock, the MTG-B4000, has surfaced online yet again. Fresh details have emerged, revealing the key features of the watch, price tag, and when you might actually be able to strap one onto your wrist.
The latest leak comes from the Japanese blog Great G-Shock World, who has a good track record when it comes to scoops on upcoming Casio and G-Shock watches. According to their findings, G-Shock fans should mark their calendars for June, as that’s the targeted launch month for the MTG-B4000. As expected from the high-end Metal-Twisted G-Shock (MT-G) lineup, this won't be your standard rugged beater. The report pegs the price around 180,000 yen, which converts to roughly $1,204, placing it firmly in the luxury category.
As for the features, the leak suggests a familiar G-Shock cocktail. We’re told the watch will come equipped with Tough Solar charging, Multi-band 6 radio reception for atomic timekeeping accuracy across several regions, Bluetooth connectivity, and a case made out of laminated carbon sheet construction.
The G-Shock MTG-B4000 is expected to drop in two color variants. While an exact launch date and availability details remain unknown at this point, a Japan-first launch seems probable before it eventually trickles out to international markets like the US and Europe.
