New Casio G-Shock MTG-B4000 images leak online, revealing bold case finish and sleeker lugs
As covered in a previous leak, the Casio MTG-B4000 is shaping up to be the next premium entry in the Metal-Twisted G-Shock lineup. Earlier this April, new high-resolution images surfaced online for the first time, giving us a much better look at two variants of the watch and a few changes that set them apart from older MT-G models.
Undoubtedly, what stands out the most is the more angular, sculpted lug design, which now extends out in a smoother curve compared to the bulkier, squared-off shape of the MTG-B3000 and B2000. From the front, it gives the watch a more cohesive silhouette, especially with the integrated resin strap. Some fans are already comparing the lug geometry to the Edifice lineup - and not in a bad way.
The dial layout looks to be largely familiar: triple subdials, broad applied markers, and analog-digital functionality. The bezel, however, is clearly the star here. The leaked variants show off a brushed stainless finish on one model (MTG-B4000-1A) and a bluish-gray tone on the other (MTG-B4000-2A) - both paired with what looks like forged carbon accents, possibly on the side guard sections.
Nothing in the images reveals changes to the core spec sheet, but if previous leaks hold true, we can expect Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6 atomic timekeeping, Bluetooth syncing, and a laminated carbon construction - all wrapped in a case expected to be slightly more compact than the MTG-B3000’s 50.9mm profile.
While still unofficial, the MTG-B4000 is likely headed for a Japan-first launch in June before expanding to other markets. Based on how the design looks now, this doesn't feel like a half-baked prototype. It’s probably close to production-ready.
The new model can potentially divide MT-G fans. But if Casio gets the size right and keeps the price within reason, we could see it becoming more popular than the older MT-G models. However, past leaks have pointed towards the final price being in the ballpark of $1,200, so that might deter some prospective buyers who don't want to shell too much for their next Casio.
