Casio’s G-Shock GD100-1B is back under the spotlight, and not because it’s new or flashy, but because it’s now going for just $60.98 on Amazon, down from its $99 list price. That’s 38% off a model that first dropped in 2010, and while its age shows in a few ways, the deal is still worth talking about.
The GD100-1B is known for its big, rugged case and a matte black finish that leans hard into the "tactical" aesthetic. It comes with a bright LED backlight, five alarms, a stopwatch, countdown timer, and world time. Water resistance goes up to 200 meters, which is more than most will need, and the battery lasts a solid 7 years on a single CR2025.
However, one thing to note - this watch doesn’t scream modern. There’s no Bluetooth or solar charging, and the display can be a little tough to read in bright daylight. It’s chunky, it’s old-school, but it doesn’t try to be anything else.
Still, customer reviews remain strong even in 2025, with an average rating of 4.7 from over 1,700 users. Some commend it for being near-indestructible and easy to rely on. Others mention how it becomes second nature after a while. So, while it won’t win points for finesse, it does what it’s supposed to do - and keeps doing it for years.
While this isn't a record low, it is definitely the watch's lowest price we’ve seen in a long time, and it’s only a few bucks away from its all-time low of $54.99. If you’ve been eyeing a tough digital beater watch, this might be the right moment.
