The Casio G-Shock GA-V01 is launching soon in Europe. This new model launched in February and is already confirmed for the UK. In March, the GA-V01 was worn by models at the FW25 show for fashion label Ottolinger. Referencing this fashion show, the G-Shock France Instagram account recently stated that “the GA-V01 is coming soon, I promise”.
It is expected that the GA-V01 model will roll out across various EU countries. However, the company has yet to confirm this or provide an exact launch date. The watch has an unusual design with a large case, measuring 58.2 mm (~2.3 inches) across at its widest point. It features the new magnetically attached Shock Release Hand as well as shock-absorbing bumpers. Tools include a countdown timer with a 24 hour range, date and weekday display, five daily alarms and a 1/100th stopwatch. Plus, the model is water resistant to 200 m (~656 ft) and has an estimated run time of 10 years.
Casio has yet to reveal the price of the G-Shock GA-V01 for EU countries. It is listed at Netherlands-based retailer Auer.lu for €129, with the product page stating it is “Coming Soon”. As a reminder, the wearable will retail for £119 in the UK when it launches. Whether or when it could be released in North America remains to be seen.
