Rolex has unveiled its latest Land-Dweller premium watch collection at Watches and Wonders. Rolex’s new Land-Dweller features a high-frequency Caliber 7135 movement with 66 hours of power reserve, a 40 mm platinum case, and a 1970s Oysterquartz-inspired design. It comes in oyster steel/gold/platinum models and has 100 m (10 bar) water resistance.

A Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, Rolex, has officially introduced a brand-new Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller collection at the Watches and Wonders event. Rolex has released a full collection of 10 references of the Land-Dweller, including Everose gold, platinum, and steel in both 36 mm and 40 mm. The watch has a total of 32 patent applications, 18 of which are exclusive to this model, while the remaining 16 are for its revolutionary movement.

Let’s start with the design. Visually, the Rolex Land-Dweller is a revamp of the Oysterquartz models from the 1970s and is 20% thinner than Datejust models. It features a 40 mm Everose gold/platinum/steel barrel-shaped case with a twinlock crown at the 3 o’clock position. The case is finished with brushed surfaces and polished bevels on the sides.

Rolex has also introduced a new dial design for the Land-Dweller, featuring a new honeycomb dial motif. The steel and gold model comes with a satin finish, while the Platinum edition features an ice-blue sunray dial. Its honeycomb dial texture is adorned with a date window at 3 o’clock and luminescent hands and hour markers, which emit a shade of light blue. Plus, the dial also contains 6 and 9 numerals, inspired by the Explorer and Air-King. The dial is complemented by a fluted bezel (in white gold on the steel model and matching gold or platinum for the remaining two variants).

At the heart of the Land-Dweller is Rolex’s new calibre 7135 high-frequency automatic movement, which beats at a 5 Hz (36,000 vph) frequency, features 39 jewels, and offers 66 hours of power reserve. With Rolex’s innovative Dynapulse escapement, the movement guarantees accuracy between -2/+2 seconds a day.

Furthermore, the watch also features a new integrated Flat Jubilee classic five-piece link bracelet with flat polished center links and a concealed folding Crownclasp. However, it lacks micro-adjustment on the clasp. The timepiece also has a 100 m (10 bar) water resistance, providing robust protection for the watch.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller starts at $13,900/£12,250/€15,350. You can learn more about the Land-Dweller on Rolex’s website.
