A popular Japanese watchmaker, Citizen, has unveiled a new model, the Citizen Series 8 831 Limited Edition mechanical watch. The mechanical timepiece’s design is said to be inspired by rays of sunlight reflecting off crystal-clear blue ocean waters. Design-wise, the new 831 shares the same overall design as the most streamlined versions of the Series 8 collection. More specifically, the timepiece features a 40 mm stainless steel octagonal case with a date window and a single screw-down at the 3 position.
The main appeal of the Citizen Series 8 831 is the ice blue geometric dial texture, and according to Citizen, it reflects and glitters light like the surface of a calm sea. Its classic ice blue dial is adorned with lume-coated sword hands and applied baton indices, providing better visibility in low-light conditions.
At the heart of the 831 is the Citizen’s in-house mid-range caliber 9051 movement with both automatic and manual winding, which provides 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. This movement guarantees accuracy between -10/+20 seconds per day while offering enhanced magnetic resistance to protect the watch from magnetic fields in everyday life.
Furthermore, the watch has the same sapphire crystal durability found in other Series 8 collections. Plus, the model ships with 100 m (~10 bar) water resistance, meaning it can easily withstand normal water conditions. Moreover, Citizen offers H-shaped links brushed with polished accents and a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp with push-button release.
The Citizen Series 8 831 is now available for purchase from Citizen and other authorized retailers for $1,300 or €895. It’s worth noting that this is a limited edition run of only 1,800 pieces. For more details, head over to the official product page of the Series 8 831 watch.
