Now that the Apple M4 has had some time to spread its wings, it is time for it to show up in a new laptop: the MacBook Air. Not too long ago, Mark Gurman predicted Apple would show off its new laptops sometime this week, and now, Tim Cook has effectively confirmed it.
In a new X post, Tim put out a not-so-subtle teaser that said, "There's something in the air", narrowing down the teaser to the M4 MacBook Air or a new iPad Air. The latter isn't due for a while, so we'll be seeing new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models debut soon.
Apart from an M4 chip, some extra RAM and Apple Intelligence, other upgrades seem unlikely for this generation's MacBook Air. Still, you can rest easy, knowing Apple won't be selling you a laptop with 8 GB RAM any more because 16 GB has become the norm for even last-gen variants.
Unfortunately, Tim didn't mention an exact date. That's a bit odd because the iPhone 16e teaser explicitly mentioned one. Perhaps one will be revealed later, or you may have to keep your eyes peeled for a stealthily announced press release on Apple's website.
