With the launch of the new M4 MacBook Air, there are deals aplenty to be had on older models. Costco is currently selling the M2 MacBook Air 13 for $250 off.
The model on sale features the base M2 processor (8C CPU, 8C GPU). It sports 16 GB of unified memory and a 256 GB SSD. This model is the 13-inch MacBook Air, which means it has a 13.6-inch 2560x1664 IPS display at 60 Hz. The M2 MacBook Air has MagSafe charging on board and rounds out I/O with a headphone jack and two USB4 ports (40 Gbps, Power Delivery, DisplayPort).
In our review of the M2 MacBook Air 13, we highlighted its long battery life and solid performance despite its fanless design. However, we bemoaned the (slightly) slower WiFi 6 80 MHz and the fact that it can only support one external monitor at a time.
It should be noted that the M2 MacBook Air, which was released in 2022, is outperformed by the newer M4 MacBook Air by roughly 30-40% in most benchmarks, and the M4 MacBook Air is only $300 more. However, the older M2 MacBook Air handily outperforms Windows laptops with Snapdragon CPUs and keeps pace with even the latest Intel laptops. As such, it should still be a solid option for most people, and it should offer some decent video editing chops as well.
Costco has slashed the M2 MacBook Air by $250, bringing its listed price down to $699.99. Keep in mind that this sticker price bears the dreaded "Costco Death Star," meaning that once stock runs out, there will be no more models put on the floor or online.
This price is good either in store or on Costco's website (linked below).
