Apple may soon release an M4 MacBook Air, but deal hunters can save a pretty penny by opting for the older (but still capable) M2 MacBook Air 13.
Apple is selling the M2 MacBook Air 13 for $799 over at Amazon. This is a 20% discount off its regular price of $999. Note that the machine on sale features Apple's M2 SoC with 8 CPU and 8 GPU cores, 256 GB of storage, and 16 GB of RAM.
The M2 MacBook Air 13 launched the modern design of Apple's laptops, featuring the return of MagSafe charging. This laptop also has two Thunderbolt 3/USB4 ports (40 Gbps) on the left side and a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the right.
The M2 MacBook Air 13 scored a staggering 92% in our review. We highlighted the laptop's excellent build quality and silent operation that didn't compromise on power. We also noted the long 15 hours of runtime in our Wi-Fi battery test, which is considered by most to be a primary selling point of the laptop. However, we did note some shortcomings. Primarily, the M2 MacBook Air 13 can only support one external display and lacks newer connections like Thunderbolt 4 or Wi-Fi 6 160 MHz.
While Apple is rumored to launch a new MacBook Air with the company's latest and greatest M4 SoC, the M2 should still be more than sufficient for most use cases. Check out our review here for more details.
