Ressence has introduced its first GMT watch, the Ressence Type 7. Ressence’s new watch with GMT complication comes in two versions: the XV Aquamarine and the Night Blue. The former is a special anniversary edition celebrating Ressence’s 15th year in operation, and it’s limited to 80 pieces only. While the latter will not be limited. The Type 7 follows the same aesthetic as the Ressence Type 5 dive watch.
The Ressence Type 7 features a 41 mm Grade 5 titanium case with flat sides and polished bevels. The main difference between the Type 5 and Type 7 is the bezel. The former comes with a rotating bezel, while the latter has a fixed one.
Like the other Ressence models, such as Type 5, the Type 7 also sports an oil-filled convex dial. The dial is adorned with a brand-new GMT subdial with 24-hour markings and a typical oil temperature indicator, which sits underneath the hour subdial with the color changing as the temperature shifts. The watch has double-domed sapphire crystals on top and bottom with an anti-reflective coating inside.
Inside the Type 7 is Ressence’s Orbital Convex System (ROCS) 7, which uses a series of rotating circular displays to display the time. The ROCS 7 is driven by the minute axle of a customized ETA-2824 caliber that sits at the bottom half of the case. This automatic movement runs at 28,800 vph (vibrations per hour), features 37 jewels, and provides 36 hours of power reserve.
Like the case, the Type 7’s bracelet is also crafted from Grade 5 titanium, featuring screwed-in links and a clasp that offers 5 positions of micro-adjustment. With 50 m (5 ATM) water resistance, the watch easily withstands normal water conditions.
Available in Night Blue and XV Aquamarine versions, the Ressence Type 7 costs CHF 36,000 ($40,724). The watch is expected to be available beginning next month. For more details, head over to the official product page.
