The Casio G-Shock DW-6900TR-1, DW-6900TR-4 and DW-6900TR-9 limited edition watches are expected to launch in more European countries in the near future. These three models celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original 6900 series watches. They launched in the UK and Japan earlier this month.
The DW-6900TR has several design nods to its predecessors, with an upgraded metal front button that is used to activate the backlight. On activation, you can see the words “Since 1995”, the year in which the DW-6900 series was born. On the rear casing, the engraved Shock Resist logo is surrounded by 30 stars, one for each year of the line's existence. The DW-6900TR-1 is black, the DW-6900TR-4 is red, and the DW-6900TR-9 is yellow, matching the shades of the older DW-6900H series.
Casio’s DW-6900TR watches are shock-resistant and waterproof up to 20 bar, with an estimated battery life of five years. Features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer, hourly time signals and a multifunction alarm. Users can choose between 12 and 24-hour time formats, the calendar is fully automatic for the year 2099, and the watches are said to be accurate to within 15 seconds each month.
Casio has listed the DW-6900TR-1, DW-6900TR-4, and DW-6900TR-9 watches in its online stores in countries like the Netherlands, France, and Spain, where they will retail for €119. On each site, the products are said to be “Coming Soon”; no release date has been provided, but prospective customers can sign up to receive a launch notification via email. It is unclear when these products will launch in the US, where they are expected to retail for around $120.
