Home Assistant has announced that three Apollo Automation devices are now certified for use with its open-source smart home automation software. This means that the products have met certain integration requirements and have been tested by partner company Nabu Casa.
The Apollo Automation MTR-1 Multi-Target Radar Multisensor For Home Assistant (LD2450) is now Works with Home Assistant certified. The mmWave sensor can detect presence or motion, UV and LUX levels and, optionally, CO2 levels. It also features an RGB LED and a piezo buzzer and retails for $36.99.
Also certified for use with Home Assistant is the MSR-2 mmWave Multisensor For Home Assistant (LD2410B). It is incredibly similar to the MTR-1, with a couple of changes, including the ability to measure humidity. It is also slightly cheaper at $34.99.
The third Home Assistant certified device is the AIR-1 Air Quality Sensor. It can detect dust, pollen and other particles in the air in your home, again with an optional CO2 Sensor. It could be used to trigger an HVAC fan or to open a smart window. This product is priced at $92.99.
Home Assistant notes that these are the first devices based on ESPHome to receive its certification. It is expected that more Apollo Automation devices will join the Works with Home Assistant program in the future, though it is unclear when this could happen.
