Roborock launches new Qrevo Edge S5A as more affordable robot vacuum

Roborock has launched the Qrevo Edge S5A robot vacuum, a new cheaper version of a powerful older model. To reduce the price of this version compared to the original, there is a slimmed-down feature set.

The Qrevo Edge S5A is based on the Qrevo Edge, which was released last November. Differences between the two include the AdaptiLift Chassis, which is only available on the standard model. This technology allows the robot to climb over obstacles, such as thresholds, up to 4 cm tall. The S5A has a peak suction power of 17,000Pa, lower than the 18,500Pa of the original model. Another feature that is only available on the regular Qrevo Edge is the Hello Rocky voice assistant.

Both versions offer the DuoDivide roller brush for reduced hair tangling and the FlexiArm extending side brush. They are also both accompanied by the Multifunctional Dock 3.0, which can clean and maintain the robot. Features include hot water mop washing, warm air drying and dustbin emptying.

You can now buy the Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A robot vacuum at the discounted price of $749.99/€849.99 at Amazon. When this introductory offer ends, the product is expected to return to its $899.99/€999.99 RRP. This makes the S5A version /€500 cheaper than the original Qrevo Edge, which retails for $1,599.99/€1,499.99 (curr. $1,499.98 at Amazon US). The similar Roborock Qrevo Curv S5X robot vacuum has also recently been launched globally. The only difference between these two models is the shape of the Multifunctional Dock 3.0.
