The Philips Hue Bridge software version 1969152010 has been announced. The release arrives around one month after its predecessor, version 1969060020. This earlier release brought improvements in motion sensing and enhancements for the Twilight sleep and wake-up light (curr. $279.99 at Amazon).
Software version 1969152010 appears to be a relatively minor update. The release notes state that there are general performance and reliability improvements for the Hue Bridge without providing further details explaining where users may feel the benefit. There do not appear to be any new features or tools included in this update.
One feature that has yet to arrive for the Philips Hue Bridge and connected smart home devices is smoke detector sound recognition, which was announced earlier this year. This tool is expected to allow Secure camera devices to register the sound of a smoke alarm, notifying you via the Philips Hue app and adjusting connected smart lights accordingly.
Philips notes that it began to push the firmware to users on February 27th, with the rollout expected to take several days. The update should be installed automatically, provided you have automatic updates switched on in the Hue app; you can check this by going to Settings > Software update > Automatic update.
