The Govee Ceiling Light 1s has appeared in the database of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). This body is responsible for the maintenance and rollout of smart home standards, including Zigbee and Matter.
Govee’s Ceiling Light 1s is the latest in a series of smart lighting panels to gain CSA certification. It follows the Ceiling Light Pro and Square Ceiling Light, two other models which have yet to be released. The product listing reveals few details about this new product. Govee states that it is designed to be mounted onto a ceiling or wall and can deliver colored lighting effects.
There is support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing for remote connections via a “mobile app”, presumably the Govee Home app for smartphones and smartwatches. Plus, Matter compatibility will allow you to integrate this panel light with a wide range of smart home ecosystems. Further details around the size and dynamic lighting effects of the smart light have yet to be revealed. As such, it is hard to tell how the Govee Ceiling Light 1s will differ from the older Govee Ceiling Light (curr. $69.99 at Amazon), aside from addition of Matter support. When the new model will launch and how much it will cost also remains to be seen.
