Home Assistant 2025.3 is now available for users of the open-source smart home automation software. This latest release from the company follows updates from January and February, which focused on its refreshed backup system. Other recent announcements include Speech-to-Phrase voice recognition technology and Works with Home Assistant certification for three Apollo Automation devices.
The 2025.3 release is centred on improvements for dashboards from which you can view and manage your smart home. There are new headers where you can add a title, text and badges. Tile cards have been enhanced to make interactions clearer; if the icon is linked to an action, like switching on a smart light, it has a circular background. Home Assistant has also made it possible to align tile features inline, and there are new switch and counter toggles.
On top of this, Assist chat now supports livestream responses, like those seen with ChatGPT. This means that the user can start reading as the reply is generated rather than having to wait for the entire response to be formulated. There are also new integrations for Azure Storage, IOmeter and the SNOO Smart Sleeper Baby Bassinet (curr. $1,271.25 at Amazon). The complete change log for Home Assistant 2025.3 can be found on the company’s website.
