Home Assistant has launched software version 2025.1.4. This is the latest patch release for the open-source home automation software. It follows the broader Home Assistant 2025.1 update, which arrived on January 3rd.
The Home Assistant 2025.1 update brings an overhaul to the backup system, with support for automated backups and encrypted Home Assistant cloud backup storage. Users can now select categories and labels when creating an automation or script, and there is a new quick bar for devices for faster navigation. Plus, there are integrations for products like Thermomix’s Cookidoo and the Ohme and Peblar smart EV chargers. On top of this, the TP-Link integration is now compatible with cameras, and the SwitchBot integration supports the brand’s Water Leak Detector (curr. $17.99 at Amazon) and relay switch.
Specifically included with the Home Assistant 2025.1.4 release are more minor changes. For example, there is a change for users with Hydrawise smart Wi-Fi irrigation, with the maximum watering duration increased from 90 minutes to 600 minutes. Peblar has been updated to v0.4.0, and aiowithings, to fetch data from Withings, has been bumped to 3.1.5.
