Reolink is well known as a manufacturer of surveillance products, having launched a kind of storage solution for its own products in the form of the Reolink Home Hub Pro late last year. Such a device allows surveillance camera recordings to be stored locally and not in the cloud, which basically has several advantages: Firstly, users do not have to take out subscriptions for cloud storage and also remain more or less in control of their data. The system works even without an internet connection. However, users should keep in mind that the Reolink Home Hub could still be stolen or destroyed in a fire, ultimately resulting in data theft or loss.
The Reolink Home Hub Pro, which measures 7.28 x 5.24 x 8.74 inches and weighs 4.93 pounds, comes with 2TB of pre-installed storage that can be expanded up to 16TB. 8K streaming is supported, ensuring very high-quality recordings. Data is stored in encrypted form (AES-128). WiFi 6 allows for fast data transfer, while an HDMI port, a WAN port, a LAN Ethernet port and two USB ports are found on the back. A loudspeaker with a volume of up to 115 dB is on board. According to Reolink, the system is compatible with all Reolink WiFi and PoE cameras, supports up to 24 cameras and can be set up with up to five different ringtones, so users can differentiate between, for example, an alarm in the backyard or someone ringing the doorbell.
The device is now available at Amazon at a 25% discount for a total of $179.99.
