Leaker Igor Bogdanov has shared new information about the RS 4 Mini, which is expected to line up as DJi's next camera gimbal. A release date still escapes all leakers, including Bogdanov. Likewise, DJI has not hinted at when it will be presenting what is believed to be a cheaper alternative to last year's RS 4 and RS 4 Pro (curr. $869 on Amazon).
The RS 4 Mini has appeared in various leaks over the last few months, though. Most recently, Bogdanov published several official-looking promotional images, complete with a teaser of an accessory that he claimed would 'change everything'. As we predicted at the time, the leaker has now outlined what this accessory is before DJI's official announcement, which he had previously obscured.
Writing on X, Bogdanov alleges that DJI plans to showcase the Intelligent Tracking Module alongside the RS 4 Mini, evidence of which we have embedded below. Technical details about the module and how it works are unclear for now. The apparent inclusion of a camera offers a few hints at least, which Bogdanov implies the module will use to provide advanced subject tracking.
Presumably, this means that the RS 4 Mini will support DJI's ActiveTrack technology which can be achieved using the Ronin Image Transmitter on other RS camera gimbals. It remains to be seen whether the Intelligent Tracking Module will support the rest of the RS 4 series at launch, though.
