A few weeks have passed since MSI unveiled its latest set of QD-OLED gaming monitors, which it then showcased during CES 2025 in Las Vegas. In summary, the company unveiled the MPG 272URX QD-OLED and MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50, or MPG 272URX and MPG 272QR X50 for short.
MSI has not offered any indications when either monitor will be available globally. ITHome has now noticed that the MPG 272URX has gone on sale in China via JD.com with a CNY 6,999 (~$965) MSRP. Incidentally, this is the same launch pricing as last year's MPG 271QRX (curr. $749.99 on Amazon) that the MPG 272URX effectively replaces.
As a result, it would seem likely that the MPG 272URX will price match the MPG 271QRX in other markets, which MSI released last February for $799.99 in the US, £999.99 in the UK and €999.99 in the Eurozone. The MPG 272URX contains a few upgrades over its predecessor too, in part thanks to its reliance on a new QD-OLED panel.
For example, the MPG 272URX outputs natively at 4K for a 166 PPI, compared to 1440p and 110 PPI for the MPG 271QRX. The MPG 272URX drops to a 240 Hz refresh though, albeit with a superior port selection. Please see our original MPG 272URX launch article for further details.
